We look forward to seeing you all in Salt Lake City, UT, this July 27-30 for the 2021 SFOF National Meeting in conjunction with the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) national meeting.

 

SFOF national meetings attract state treasurers, state auditors, state government staff, non-profit leaders, policy analysts, legislators, and friends from the private sector. At SFOF meetings, state leaders share their knowledge and experiences with each other and hear from national leaders and renowned policy experts who share their commitment to free-market policies.

Guest / Spouse Registration

 

Guest / Spouse registration is meant to accommodate legal spouses and immediate family members ONLY. No exceptions will be made. Guest / Spouse designation will be clearly visible on the SFOF name badge and must be worn at all times. Spouse registration for the 2021 National Meeting includes *most meals and outings.

Registration Process and Payment Methods

 

Conference registration for the meeting will not be confirmed until the registration process has been completed and the payment has been received and processed. In accordance with our policies, we review all registrations. This review policy ensures registrants have selected the most appropriate registration option. You will receive notification of registration status. The payment amount may be adjusted to reflect the correct registration type and fees associated.

 

The State Financial Officers Foundation (SFOF) cannot be responsible for your spam filters blocking your confirmation email. Please check for a confirmation email before committing to travel arrangements. 

 

Cancellation / Refund Policy

 

Registrations cancelled prior to 11:59 PM EDT July 9, 2021 are subject to a $150 cancellation fee. Registrations are non-refundable after 12:00AM EDT July 10, 2021.

 

To cancel, or if you have any questions on payment credits or substituting your registration email Melanie Kreifels. A refund will automatically be issued based on the policy above. Please allow 2-7 business days to process depending on the respective bank. Registration substitutions will not be allowed once the attendee has checked in to the event. Registrations cannot be shared.

 

IMPORTANT DATES

 

  • Early-bird registration ends on June 11, 2021. 
  • Housing block will close on June 18, 2021.
  • On-site registration rates will begin on June 12, 2021.
  • All state leaders and government staff must book airline tickets by Friday, July 6, 2021.
  • Online registration closes July 23, 2021.

SFOF is a forum for stakeholders to exchange ideas and develop real, state-based solutions to encourage growth, preserve economic security, and protect hardworking taxpayers. SFOF members understand the importance of hearing from all sides of an issue and value public-private partnerships in policy discussions. In order to foster an environment where all sides can be heard, you must speak in a civil manner when presenting at SFOF meetings.

You grant permission for the State Financial Officers Foundation (SFOF) to use your image or voice in all forms and media as permitted by law. Hotel Reservations:

Corporate sponsors should also start booking their hotel rooms now as we are sharing the room block with American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) attendees. (Note: When you click on the button below to make a reservation, it will say the block is for “American Legislative Exchange Council.” This is the correct room block for the SFOF meeting as well.

 

The ALEC group rate is $269/night. The group rate ends Wednesday, June 30, 2021. The Grand America Hotel may request that a deposit be charged for any room reservation. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis until sold out.

 

All state leaders, state staff, and board members should book their room directly with Melanie Kreifels by emailing her at melanie@sfof.com.

 

Housing Cancellation/Refund Information

 

Please refer to the hotel’s cancellation and refund policy. All changes and/or cancellations must be made directly with the hotels. Please obtain a confirmation number when your reservation is canceled.
Generally, credit cards will be charged for one night’s room and tax in the event of a no-show or if cancellation occurs within 72 hours prior to arrival. This includes any reservations that ALEC or SFOF may have offered on a complimentary basis.

All SFOF state officials and staff must book their room by emailing Melanie@SFOF.com. All SFOF state officials are eligible for lodging scholarships for three nights beginning on Tuesday, July 27, checking out on Friday, July 30.

TRANSPORTATION TO THE GRAND AMERICAN HOTEL

The Grand America Hotel is accessible to the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) via car, taxi, and other ride-sharing services, it is located 10 miles away (approximately 15 minutes). A full list of transportation services offered at SLC is available on their website.

Car Service:

  • Taxi Service – Taxi rides cost around $13-20.
  • Light-rail Lines – The Green line begins at the Salt Lake International Airport, runs through downtown Salt Lake and out to West Valley City. At the airport, riders can board at the station and Welcome Center just outside terminal one. Fare is $2.50 and trains run every 15 minutes. Weekday service runs from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm, with a more limited schedule on weekends.
  • Ride-Sharing – Trips ranging from $15-20 (UberX). Designated pick-up areas for TNCs are indicated by curbside signs and are located in the middle traffic lanes outside of baggage claim in Terminals 1 and 2.
  • Valet and Self-Parking at The Grand America Hotel
    • Hotel Guest Overnight Valet Parking: $32.00
    • Hotel Guest Overnight Self-Parking: $20.00
    • Daily Valet Parking: $15.00
    • Daily Self-Parking Maximum: $25.00

 

GETTING AROUND SALT LAKE CITY

The Grand America Hotel is located right in the center of downtown Salt Lake City. With a light-rail stop just outside its doors and rental bikes abounding, take advantage of the scenic city and explore.

  • Buses & light-rail lines – all light-rail lines run through downtown and buses are available to take you to the greater Salt Lake area
  • GREENbike SLC – with 20 bike stations scattered throughout downtown, GREENbike SLC is an accessible, easy-to-use bike-sharing program. Access passes for GREENbike are available for as little as $5 for a 24-hour access pass. You can purchase those passes at the GREENbike stations. If you prefer to take care of your access pass online, you can get a 4-day pass online for just $1.
  • Electric Scooters – zoom like a local and take a Lime scooter for a spin up to the capitol!
