One of the best parts of this job is getting to see firsthand how state financial officers across the country are serving the people they were elected to represent.

In June, we saw that work on full display.

In Ohio, Auditor Keith Faber took the fight against Medicaid fraud to Congress after helping uncover millions in alleged Medicaid fraud and more than $1 billionin suspected PPP fraud.

In Kentucky, Auditor Allison Ball continued leading the effort to give children in foster care a stronger financial future through Fostering the Future Accounts.

We also saw leaders like Treasurers Kimberly Yee, Brad Briner, Marlo Oaks,and Auditor Mike Foley continue making the case that public dollars deserve careful stewardship and that fiduciaries have a duty to put taxpayers and retirees first.

All throughout the country, our state financial officers recovered taxpayer dollars, increased transparency, strengthened oversight, and kept working to root out waste, fraud, and abuse wherever they found it.

I also had the opportunity to join Fox Business to talk about the need for stronger financial oversight in Minnesota following the recent fraud cases.

These stories come from different states, but they all tell the same story. State financial officers are doing the work that builds trust in government and protects the people they serve.
