Arizona Treasurer 2015-2018
Jeff DeWit was appointed by President Donald J. Trump and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the CFO of NASA in the spring of 2018.
DeWit was elected to his first term as Arizona State Treasurer on November 4, 2014. He took office January 5, 2015 as Arizona’s 33rd State Treasurer.
As Arizona’s Chief Banker and Investment Officer, Treasurer DeWit oversaw more than $13 Billion in state assets and serves as an investment manager for local governments. Treasurer DeWit also served as the Chairman of Arizona’s State Board of Investment, and State Loan Commission. He also served as the State’s Surveyor General and was a member of the State Land Selection Board.
Treasurer Jeff DeWit is a successful Financial Professional with over 22 years of experience. He started his career in finance in 1992 at one of the largest brokerage firms in the country, moving up quickly to become one of Smith Barney’s youngest fully licensed Investment Professionals. In the mid-90s Jeff became a Market Maker in financial futures contracts as one of the youngest Full Members of the CME as well as a Full Member of the Chicago Board of Trade.
In 1999, Treasurer DeWit started a company called ECHOtrade. During his 14 years as CEO of their Phoenix headquarters, Treasurer DeWit grew the company to over 500 licensed professional traders worldwide. Under leadership of Treasurer DeWit, the company had a total volume in excess of a billion shares traded a month. He developed/pioneered one of the first software platforms that enabled market makers to trade off the exchange floor reducing costs and creating efficiency, while producing some of the best real-time financial risk management software and algorithms.
In the 2014 general election, Treasurer DeWit received the most votes of any state-wide elected official in the history of Arizona with 1,063,472.
Treasurer DeWit has a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Finance, and also has an accounting degree. He is married to Marina, they have three daughters and reside in the Northwest Valley of Phoenix.
